Frequently Asked Questions
What is self-storage?
Self storage is an industry in which storage space is rented to tenants, usually on a monthly basis. A self storage business provides rooms, lockers, containers, and/or outdoor space in which tenants can store and access their goods. Self storage is thought to have originated in the United States in the 1960's, although there are indications such business ventures existed in ancient China, with large warehouses providing useful storage space to business owners or privates to store their possessions/goods. The tenant has sole access to his allocated unit and can visit as often as required, during working hours of the facility. The warehouse facility provides all the necessary safety features to guarantee the safekeeping of the stored products.
What papers and ID do I need to rent a unit?
In order to sign a contract with us, you will need to bring any form of valid identification with a photo (passport, drivers license, cartão do cidadão, bilhete de identidade, residência), as well as your fiscal number.
Is there insurance on my goods?
Although we do not oblige our clients to take insurance on their unit, we strongly recommend it. We have great insurance for our customers, for a very small fee. If you wish to take your own insurance, please feel free to do so.
What size units do you have?
We have 57 units ranging from as small as one square metre up to 28 square metres.
What happens if I do not pay?
Failing payment in time, we reserve the right to deny you access to your unit. We do this by placing an overlock. If, after one month, payment has not been made, we will proceed with legal action.
What is the minimum stay?
The minimum stay at our facilities is of fifteen days.
Do I need to leave a deposit?
Yes, we ask for one month upfront as a deposit for your unit. You will receive this back when your contract expires, only if your unit is undamaged, clean and tidy on your departure.
